Low tide at Playa Guiones

17 March 2009

So far, the beaches are the best things about Nosara. We spent a long morning at a second nearby beach. We acted like hermit crabs, temporarily taking shelter from the sun in a hut of driftwood and dried palm fronds for an hour, taking turns swimming, until the owners came by and claimed their spot. Daniela and I tossed a frisbee around. (She played for UCLA’s club team the past few years and throws much better than I do!) Then we took a long walk along the beach, easily getting in the 5 miles for the day. Toward the end of our stay it must have been low tide. So, the beach was impressive for its width, length, and flatness. The pictures celebrate these characteristics. The heat and the sun chased us off the beach by noon.
