On my walk today, I headed toward Santa Elena (west from Tree Top House). Off the main road is an apparently defunct rodeo arena. Although the image of old lumber and dessicated soil points in the right direction, these pictures don’t do justice to the evocative feeling of the temporary nature of human enterprise. (Maybe I needed some fog or late afternoon light?)
