CR Catholic
25 January 2009
Another day on the road. We rented a car (made the arrangements first thing this morning!) and headed to the south east of San José. In Cartago, we saw the most important cathedral of the country. In Orosi, we saw the oldest still-active church (from the 1700s; most everything gets destroyed at intervals by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions).
We had a wonderful lunch at a coffee plantation and spent the last hour or so of our outing at a rugged national park with some walking trails through rain forest on steep terrain above a river gorge.
It was a drizzly gray day, which cut into the picture quality seriously, especially the scenic shots and also the rain forest efforts (dim anyway). So I settled on some photos from the churches. It is Sunday, after all.

I like the peacefulness of the first picture.
