Kent Vale II

Our apartment is on the 16th floor of a 25 story building. The apartment is only a 20-minute walk from my office in University Town. There is a swimming pool and an exercise room.
The only negative, and it is a relatively minor one, is that we are considerably further from the metro (MRT) than in our previous visits to Singapore. It's about a 25 minute walk to the nearest MRT station. On the other hand, today we needed to go downtown to register for my employment pass and Ingrid's visitor pass (allowing for me to work and both of us to stay for longer than 3 months). It was only a five minute walk to the bus stop where we caught a direct bus to exactly where we needed to go. The whole trip took less than an hour. And the staff at the "employment pass service center" were delightful: welcoming, exquisitely well organized and efficient. We arrived at 8:30 for a 9:30 appointment and were finished by a little after 9:00!
It's a comfortably sized and appropriately furnished 2 BR + 2 bath unit. We can have complimentary breakfast six days a week. Housekeepers provide service similar to a hotel every weekday.

Singapore — West Coast Park

Within easy walking distance of our apartment is the West Coast Park, featuring paths through well-designed and lush tropical vegetation, surrounded by a bustling industrial port. A storm rolled in during our visit and the ominous black clouds created the lighting effects seen in the first and last photos.
