Rest day, Port de Sóller

5 May 2009

We are spending our third night at Port de Sóller. Anticipating challenging rides in the next few days (and facing a few moderately urgent work matters -- the down side of almost constant internet access), we decided to take the day off from cycling. Ingrid toured Sóller with Gabrielle, Don, Gail, and Carole. I spent most of the day reviewing 9 conference papers for "Healthy Buildings 2009." Even working, it was a nice day. No commute meant a leisurely start. I enjoyed a lovely 4-mile loop hike in the early afternoon on a well-marked path through citrus groves from the port to Sóller. We had our customary "happy hour" with sangria and snacks in the afternoon sun on the sidewalk in front of our hotel overlooking this lovely bay. And then Ingrid and I had a late, light dinner at "RomA AmoR" with nice views of a terrific sunset. Ah, Mallorca!
