Hwy 395

We drove from Huntington Beach to June Lake today, traveling along CA14 and US395.  The scenery in the Eastern Sierra is great.  It seems odd that this region of California had escaped our focused attention for so long.  The trip took 8 hours including stops to cover the 360 miles.  We made two stops: at Vasquez Rocks (first two photos) and at the Manzanar historic site of a Japanese internment camp (second two photos).  Tomorrow: hiking!

Its true. The Eastern Sierras are often overlooked. I don't think I've been to any part of them.
