Cycling Copenhagen: Sites less seen

On Saturday, Geo led a bike tour of some of the less touristic sites around Copenhagen. Jørn and Gabriel joined. The day was cool, windy, overcast, and drizzly. And Ingrid got a flat tire. Still, it was a good outing, ending with a late lunch at Street Food. Among the highlights was a walk through Freetown Christiania (my first visit) and the Amager Strandpark near the Kastrup Airport.

Those sail bikes seem impractical...

Fantastic to see a new in-depth side of Denmark! Haha, Lex is right, the sail bikes would really only take you in one direction, I wonder how fast they clock in though?

These sail bikes ("blokarts") were being used on a small track, just for fun, rather than for real travel. And the sail could be adjusted to allow for wind-powered travel around the full track. I didn't look carefully to see how they handled tacking upwind. On the water, sail boats and wind surfers do that regularly.
