Zoo Lights, unfocused
Alexis gets two credits for the pictures in this post. (1) She suggested that deliberate out-of-focus shots would be interesting at the Zoo Lights. (2) Her interest in taking such shots during our visit was the impetus that pushed me to figure out how to use my Nikon D40 in a purely manual mode. Thanks, Lex!
