We've returned from a 17-day outing across southern Utah. Apart from the three days driving there (to Moab, 2 days) and back (from St. George, 1 day), we did substantial day-hiking every day for two weeks. In all, we visited five national parks (Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion), one national monument (Grand Staircase Escalante), and three state parks (Goblin Valley, Kodachrome, and Snow Valley). We hiked 150 miles in all. Our base stations numbered four: Launching Pad in Moab (an Air BnB room), Broken Spur in Torrey, Ruby's in Bryce Canyon City, and Comfort Suites in St. George. Here, I'll post photos from the three best hikes: (1) Elephant Hill to Druid Arch in the Needles section of Canyonlands (photos 1-5); (2) Fairyland Loop in Bryce Canyon (photos 6-10); and (3) Angels Landing in Zion (photos 11-14). For more, see my other blog site, which was maintained daily during the trip.
