Occidental Ramble

The ride starts in Occidental and travels across a rolling plateau along Coleman Valley Road for 10 miles to the Pacific Ocean. After traveling along Hwy 1 for 7 miles northward, we cross the Russian River and head inland on Hwy 116 riding parallel to the northern shore. Duncan Mills is about halfway to Monte Rio where we turn southward, following the Bohemian Hwy through the woods back to Occidental. Total travel distance: 31.5 miles. A great Sunday outing, and autumn is a lovely time to visit!

Last look at Lyngby

Before heading off to the airport this morning, I took a last walk around Sorgenfri Slotshave. It was a gray and drizzly morning, a harbinger of the long dark days to come. But the autumn colors were still a special treat, even in the dim light.
